A Welcome from our Head of School
Sister Lucie Nordmann

On behalf of our Sacred Heart family, welcome to our web site! You will soon discover that our Sacred Heart tradition is ever present and rooted in all facets of this vibrant Catholic school community. We owe much gratitude to our founding Mothers, St. Madeleine Sophie Barat and our namesake, St. Philippine Duchesne, for their great love of Jesus and children, their courage, their humility and their ability to impart faith, knowledge and values to their students in the 200 year history of the Society of the Sacred Heart. Moreover, we are honored and humbled to be part of this Sacred Heart family consisting of dozens of schools nationwide and internationally. Since the founding of our school community in 1929, our loyal and generous alumnae and alumni have called our school community home and we are proud to call them family.

The faculty, staff and administration are dedicated, talented and live by the words of St. Madeleine Sophie, "the more you love, the more you want others to love." Ever present is our approach to teaching the whole child in mind, body and spirit. We challenge our students to do and be their very best; to support their hopes and dreams; to laugh and cry with them; to hold them accountable for their actions but with dignity and lessons learned in mind; to hire and retain the very best faculty and staff; and to be good role models following the example of Jesus.

Our mission is to transform the world, one child at a time.

With an emphasis on academics, the arts, athletics, service learning, values and leadership, our college preparatory curriculum is known throughout the region. Our graduates attend some of the finest colleges and universities in the United States and around the world. We are enriched by a beautiful 60-acre campus with historical as well as state-of-the-art facilities and grounds.

We welcome you to explore our faith-filled school community blessed with wonderful students; supportive parents and grandparents; a caring and competent faculty and staff; and devoted and generous alumnae/alumni, volunteers and friends. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions as a prospective student, parent or employee. We are here to serve and look forward to connecting with you.
